
Born on 10th November 1973 to the family of Alhaji Usman Ajibola and Mrs Falilat Layode of Awhanjigo Quarters, Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria. He had his primary education at Muslim Primary School, Badagry between 1978-1984 where he obtained his Primary School Certificate, and to Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Badagry where he obtained his WASCE in 1989. He obtained his National Certificate in Education (NCE) from the then Lagos State College of Education (LACOED) in 1999, Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies from Lagos State University (LASU) in 2004, bagged his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the same citadel, LASU in 2011.
Hon Layode is a seasoned administrator with a distinguished career spanning over 30 years both in private and public sectors. He started his career in 1991 as a distribution manager with Timmy-Jacks Wood Works-Badagry immediately after his secondary school before proceeding to set-up his own auto-dealership company- LAIBOLA LINK INT in 2002. His passion for public service and governance made him run for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2007 to represent the good people of Badagry Constituency 1, an election he won over and over again, representing his constituency in the Lagos Assembly for 16 years.
Throughout his tenure in LAHA, he was a driving force behind numerous landmark legislative initiatives. He chaired different house committees including Agriculture, Rural Development, Housing, Waterfront, Home Affairs among others.
Hon Layode is grassroot politician who enjoys fitness, football and travelling.
He is happily married and blessed with wonderful children.
